1. Introduction

RemoteWAP is a Remote Administration Tool for any Operating System
that can support the Java Virtual Machine. It has been designed for anyone
who wishes to have complete control of there OS anywhere by using a WAP
enabled Mobile Phone. RemoteWAP is developed using Java and WML for the
client mobile phone front-end pages. RemoteWAP has a Java Swing-GUI to
allow for easy control. Future releases will have a Command Line Interface
for quick use

2. Pre-Install

Before you try and run RemoteWAP please make sure you have the following
system set-up:

- You have a X server running
- You have at least the Java SDK 1.4 (not tried with < 1.4)

No install feature yet

4. Configuring

There is several ways in which you can customize RemoteWAP. The first way
is be editing the properties file, WAPServer.properties, in the root
directory of the application folder. This is the main configuration file
for the server. This is where it looks for the following options:

Port Number :

This is the port number that the sever will bind to
and wait for incoming connections.

Logs Path :

This is the folder where the log files will be kept.
Please note the folder must be exist before hand else the log files will NOT be saved.

Passcode :

This is the passcode that you enter when logging into
the server from a mobile phone.

You can also add you own commands to run. All you need to is look at a
.cmd file in the /commands directory and look how that is set up

5. Running

To run RemoteWAP on you computer simply move to the src folder of the
application and run the following command to compile the WAPServer

./compile

Then to launch the application run the following bash script

./startServer

You can the connect to your IP address on the port number you defined in
the configure file.

*For testing purposes i used an emulator called deckit from Pyweb*
